The Wolves of Midwinter

Monday, July 09, 2007

Hey everyone! I'm back to post some stuff. Two more days to go till Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and *looks at countdown clock on desktop*, 11 days till Deathly Hallows. YEAH!!!!!!! Anyways, I am really having trouble trying to come up with a new fan forum for Karen Hancock's books, since Tara, the owner of the first forum, is closing it. Its so sad to see KAK go, Tara did a very good job organizing it. I am afraid to admit but any forum work that I do will not be anywhere as good as hers. SO I am just asking for suggestions and maybe some tips on making a Guardian King forum or any forum. So far this summer, I have been one total dork, I've literally done nothing but surf the internet reading Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings fanfics, and looking at anime fan art of those books on Deviantart. Also I have finished about 19 books so far and have watched too much anime for my own good. Well if I were not doing any of that stuff I would not be me. Being me, is buying and reading every book on the Fantasy Fiction Tour, camping out for 13 hours in front of Target overnight for the Nintendo Wii, dressing up for Harry Potter midnight parties and obsessing about Harry Potter for weeks on end, playing final fantasy for 5 hours straight or more, wishing someone would draw some Door Within anime art on Deviantart.Anyways, let's get serious. I just wanted to post my summary of the novel I have been planning for more than 6 years. What I really like about it, but scares me at the same time, is the main character is definitely me, all his struggles mirror mine, but in a fantasy manner. The book, though is much different than almost everything on the CBA market. Its definitely Christian, but touches upon topics that are a bit risque in the Christian market. This is definitely a hard task, I must write a novel that I want to write, but write it for the audience I am aiming for. Very hard task! Well, I'm only 17 and a senior in high school, I should not be rushing. But I love plotting the novel some much, it really brings joy to the sometimes very unhappy days of my life. Even though people bring me down by constantly saying that I am aiming for a profession that is risky. I can' help but love writing. The novel I'm writing contains what I love from great fantasy novels, great battle sequences, ghoulish creatures, awesome weapons, but most important the inner struggles of characters, which for me makes or breaks a novel. For a novel without compelling characters are just Blah! Its the difference between a RA Salvatore novel and a Karen Hancock book. I also want to work in the field of consoling, I really feel as though I understand the woes of every walk of life. I want to reach out to some of those who some Christians ignore or not reach out to. All this will be hard as my parents keep nagging me to do stuff I have no interest in like Accounting, they keep saying to get my head out of the clouds and to look realistically at my life. I try but I don't feel this tug or the push that I have towards being a psychologist and a writer. Anyways here is a summary of the trilogy I have been planning for a while.

Summary of The Chronicles of Dragon Bearth Book 1: The Holders of the Prophecy
Please be aware that I have gone through revising the plot for this story many times, so many it is not even funny, I have written about forty different plots and prologues and first chapters. I became so frustrated that I believed that writing was not my calling; I prayed so hard to ask God to indicate to me what he wants me to write and if this was the right time. No answer except for a whole slew of images of a world where elves who were Christians had guardian dragons and magic powers given to them by a god with the name of Boaz. I imagined that each time a person became a Christian in my story like in Jesus’ potter parable; Boaz used a certain type of ritual molded and made each person new. But the world was oh so dark because Boaz’s brother created from a combination of the blood of Boaz and the hearts of two eternal dragons who felt Boaz the creator of the world of elves Isithar was too powerful and felt they as Boaz should have powers and rule over Isithar. So they self created Seth, an evil incarnation of Boaz who will stop at nothing to stop people from following Boaz and having a close relationship with him. This is just the basis for my series! Be aware even this plot is still tentative and the summary down below also of the first book. Please criticize as I still think the plot to be bad. The plot came below to me today as I thought of my own journey of faith and how it would look in a fantasy world. Be aware that the more an elf sins, their skin turns orcish then their heart turns black only if they completely commit blasphemy against Boaz, there is more to this concept, but pretty much when I came up with it, I was playing Kingdom Hearts. Also the series will be a trilogy. Well here is the summary;

Macreba, a young clear skinned elf is born into a world of treachery and darkness. Abandoned and alienated by all because of his kindness and clear skin. Macreba feels hopeless and does not understand why life is even worth living. The only thing keeping him going on is his passionate, undying love for a brown haired, clear skinned elf by the name of Jeule who too like Macreba is abandoned and alienated by all. But sometimes he feels that love is false, but for him it is like the love shared between siblings. Macreba knows what is wrong with him, but shields this incapacity from the world around him, knowing the hate and prejudice the would garner from others. Hope comes though as five eternal dragons only seen by the eyes of Jeule and Macreba comes and destroys the town of dark skinned, sinful elves in which both Macreba and Jeule live. Jeule and Macreba find themselves the only survivors and happen upon 2 triangular circlets which shines a thin ray of light if both lights from the circlets are combined. With this Jeule and Macreba must venture out of the town of Vadakar and into the darkened lands where the only things living are those who will stop at nothing to stop Jeule and Macreba from reaching where the ray of light from the combined circlets are pointed towards.
Treachery and hard decisions come upon both Jeule and Macreba. Their inner selves will be challenged till they reach the point in which the ray of light is pointing them towards.
For what lies at the end will be something far greater than both could ever imagine. They will soon face a great destiny which both of them have never imagined.

I have some pretty bizarre music tastes. While some listen to rock/pop from America and England, which I listen to also. I also have quite a love for the craziness of japanese music. For some reason,I can not get enough of some of the awesome music from Japan. BTW for all those who do not know, jrock means japanese rock and jpop is japanese pop. Now you know that when I'm typing on these forums, what those terms mean. Anyways I first got into the music, when I was watching Inuyasha on Adult Swim, which two years I could not get enough of that half demon. But now I am a little sick of that show. But not all anime gets tiring. I still am as obsessed with Eureka 7, Trigun, Naruto, Bleach,Neon Genesis Evangelion and various other japanese cartoons. But what caught me and really made me love these cartoons, not the ultra cool animation, great story lines and characters, but the theme songs. Yes! the theme songs, those catchy jpop songs is what made me love anime. B/c for some reason there was something different about it than american music, it seemed a lot more catchy and creative than some american music. I remember the year I was in ninth grade and I met this girl, who I am still friends with, who got me into the whole japanese music scene. I remember when she first gave me a CD filled with X Japan, the next day I was entirely addicted and still am. Some of the stuff is a little, well you know, but in my opinion no worse than some American stuff. Anyways, this post is part of my blog posts once a week that will share to readers of this blog about a culture you may be totally unaware of, yes... japanese culture. Which many of my friends are really into, me included. Anyways here are three music videos that are all appropriate. Oh and music videos from Japan are called PVs which stands for Promotional Videos. Well enjoy!

For the next two weeks of my life, I will not be human. I will be what you call a total dork, someone who obsesses over something most normal people do not obsess about. Yes I am what you may call a Potter dork. I have read and loved Harry Potter since I was nine years old, of course I'm now about to be a senior in high school, and am even more obsessed with it than even when I was nine. First of all, I took down my countdown clock on my computer just because it would make me become very impatient, because two weeks seems like forever when you are waiting for something. In my case that would be the seventh Harry Potter book. Luckily, I have many distractions this summer, to stop me from thinking about Harry Potter, or at least to make the next two weeks till the release more bearable. Of course, other than Harry Potter I have a bazillion other things that I counted down for. For example, the two weeks leading up to the release of Fellowship of the Ring, was probably the most unbearable two weeks of my life. Even worse, was the year and a half long wait for Return of the Guardian King by:Karen Hancock. "Why did Karen Hancock have to write such an unbearable cliff hanger for Shadow over Kiriath" Of course the cliffhanger for The Restorer is pretty bad too, for I can not wait to find out what happens in The Restorer's Son. I definitely need to practice the art of patience, for I am now annoying my mailman with the question "Is it here yet?" "What?" the mailman asks. "Enoch's Ghost!" I say in a very possessive manner. "Oh that, Sorry another week," the mailman saids sadly. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" I yell and run back up to my keep where I do nothing all day but try and wait the next few weeks for Deathly Hallows and Enoch's Ghost.

Well anyways, enough of a description of how obsessed I am with "certain things". I saw Transformers yesterday with my dad and I've got to say that movie rocked. I loved the old cartoon called Beast Wars when I was younger, so with that, I was more than happy to go see a live action adaptation of it. The special effects and action sequences is what made it so good. But sadly like all Micheal Bay movies, some of the acting was pretty wooden and some of the lines were downright corny and the movie seemed a bit overlong. But I came in expecting that so I was not at all disappointed.
Next up in my movie list is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, than Stardust.

In a little less than a week, four wonderful fantasy writers; Wayne Thomas Batson, Christopher Hopper, Bryan Davis, and Sharon Hinck will be taking a journey along the East Coast to publicize fantasy Christian books. All of these authors that are touring, write some awesome stuff. I had no trouble reading any of the stuff on the tour, for I enjoyed every one of these author's works. I seriously went through the whole Door Within Trilogy in three days and DIOM in about 6 days, and read the White Lion Chronicles in about 5 days. I read The Restorer in about one day. Of course you could say I read them fast because I am a very avid reader. But seriously there are some books that are a complete chore to get through *looks at Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrel sitting on the shelf behind me*. Anyways, if you have not ever read anything by these authors, check them out on Amazon or come personally to one of the many stops. Seriously, you will not be disappointed!

Well for the next few days I will be posting reviews of the books that are featured on the Fantasy Fiction Tour. I have already written a review for Sharon Hinck's The Restorer which is posted a few posts down. First of all, I am still praying that my mom will be in a good mood and she will not have anything important things to do the 16th of July to drive an hour and a half to Newark, DE for the tour. Hopefully she will, but there is a major possibility that I probably will not be going due to lack of mode of transportation. That kinda upsets me, but I'm sure I can always help to support the authors by continuing to spread word of the many stops and the novels that they have written. Anyways, today I will be posting a review of the Door Within Trilogy. I first discovered this book while I was looking through christianbook.com and was searching for something to read after finishing the Dragonkeeper Chronicles and the latest in the Legends of the Guardian King series. So I happened upon these books by complete luck. One thing I do have to say is that the cover design is really eye appealing, if I saw these while scanning the shelves at Borders, I probably would pick them up just because the covers are so snazy. Anyways, the minute I started reading, I was completely riveted by the whole novel. I could not stop reading. The writing allowed me to easily envision the Kingdom of Alleble. Also, I especially loved the humor of the book, the part where Aidan used a rampage of sheep to lead the Paragor soldiers into the cave to be eaten. Wayne Batson took an ordinary rescue mission and added humor to it, by writing it in a way that was fun and exciting to read. If you stop by here and really need something to read to entertain your boring summer holiday or to stave off your ravenous hunger for the final Harry Potter novel, I really recommend this exciting, well written series to you.

Well, here is some more fanfiction for today. I noticed when I put it up that the italics that were in the original text was gone when I wrote out the thoughts of each and every character. Anyways here is the fanfictions, Return to Arena Chps. 3/4, and a new one The Fall of Abramm Kalladorne. Both these are based on novels by:Karen Hancocks and are found on fanfiction.net.

Chapter 3:

“Reveal yourself, come out, so I can see the one who shot me,” Callie spoke hoarsely; she took a few inhales and exhales, to relieve herself of the panic. But her whole self felt constricted by the suddenness of the attack. The blood continued to pour onto the ground. Whatever shot her caused a very deep wound, for she was losing pints of blood by the minute. She tried to keep herself from thinking of the possibility of death, but if she did not stop it, she might die from loss of blood. Voices in her head began jeering at her, about how weak she was, and how with Elhanu, she was even weaker than before. Callie, tried to block the thoughts rushing through her head, by thinking of all that Elhanu had done in the past for her. But the whispers just got louder. Callie, Elhanu lies. He never loved you; he was the one who kidnapped Pierce. He’s just testing your obedience yet again. Why do you follow someone whom just gives you nothing but pain? Callie’s head pounded the battle between her consciences made her stomach feel looped in all sorts of knots. Her tears fell harder, why did she ever embark on this journey?

“Hello! Oh my!” the mysterious man yelled, coming towards her fallen body. The man was tall and slender. He was Japanese, and his hair was black like many other young Japanese men. His jet black hair coursed down to his waist, and was tied up in a ponytail to keep it from obscuring his view. Upon his thin body, was a tight fitting black t-shirt, and he wore a torn pair of army pants, and thick brown leather boots upon his tiny feet. Callie looked at the man with anger and vehement, why would the man who had just shot her with an arrow, be coming to care for her. What if though the man, who was now scurrying through his bag looking for his first aide kit, did not hurt her?

“Get away from me! Why the heck did you shoot me with a bow and arrow?” Callie moaned as the man looked up and gave her a sorrowful face.

“I never shot you! I never would! I was just walking and suddenly I saw an arrow come out of nowhere and shoot you. You see, what shot you was a trog,” the man said, returning to his task of finding a first aide kit

“Oh duh! How stupid can I be? Did I forget about the creatures who were once human, whom have lost their souls to the fire curtain? All they think about is killing their next prey. But wait… I thought they couldn’t come upon the red path,” Callie said, trying to keep her eyes to the ground. For she could not help but stare at the beautiful, slender body of the Japanese man. She tried to stop having these feelings, since now both her and Pierce were married, and it was thus a sin to look upon another man that way.

The man finally finished finding the first aid kit, and began applying antibacterial cream to Callie’s wound and then began wiping the excess blood upon a clear white rag that he had been carrying in case of such an accident.

“So are you new to the Arena?” the man asked putting a huge tan bandage on her wound.

“No!”

“Really? Well maybe you can help me get out of here,” the man said finally finishing his task of cleaning Callie’s wound. He quickly set himself back into an upward position and then sat down to the left of Callie. “Oh… introductions, I’m Kyo-san! While doing my last concert in Kyoto, Japan, I overdosed on drugs, trying to kill myself. I blacked out, and before I knew it, I had this knapsack upon my back filled with all the necessary utilities of getting myself out of here.” the man continued, looking a little depressed. Callie, felt sympathetic towards the man. She felt the desire to wrap her arms around him to tell him that he was okay and she understood how someone could resort themselves to such an act. Yet as usual, she stayed planted where she was, lying down on the cold beaten red path of the Arena.

“I’m Callie, I was here once before. My husband and I were about to go to an Art Show, when my husband was stabbed and thus pulled into the wall by a Watcher. They plan to make him their new Prince. I must rescue him before he loses both his body and soul to those despicable creatures. But first I must lead a group of people to where the exit of the Arena lies,” Callie said, the hard, cold truth that her husband may be dead coming back to her. She could not help but to begin to cry again. The tears unlike last time, fell harder, her face turning red, she put her head into her arms. She hoped Kyo did not see that she was crying. But the fact she hid her face away from his view gave it away. Kyo wrapped his small arms around her, and told her it was alright to cry. That he understood more than anyone else, how it was to feel pain. The touch of Kyo, made her miss the way Pierce would wrap his arms around her and kiss her with his warm lips; the memory of those warms lips made Callie glower with happiness.

“Callie, I will do all I can to help you save your husband,” Kyo said, unwrapping his arms from Callie, then gathering his stuff and standing up. “Come, Callie we must go before dark, or we may be Trog meat,” that last word made him chuckle a bit. Callie staggered to her feet and slowly gathered her stuff. For now she felt a little dizzy, was it from the wound or maybe it was from the fact she had just shared an embrace from someone other than her husband. It was just a loving hug, just a hug, nothing more. But even as she tried to comfort herself. That dirty truth that she had been feeling attracted to Kyo, made her feel even sicker, to the point she felt she might vomit. Why was Elhanu allowing her to feel these dreaded feelings? Did he not remember that she was married?

As the sun began to set, Kyo led Callie to a cave tucked under a grove of bushes, a little ways off of the red path. Callie began feeling worried, that they should not be off of the path. But she felt relieved as she saw the ground of the cave was a tint of red. She was happy that she had forgotten all of her feelings toward Kyo. But when she remembered that they would be sleeping within the same cave. The same feeling came back to her, making her stomach sick with doubt. How am I ever to survive this night?

A/N: I had so much trouble writing this chapter. I seriously need help at this point! This chapter is so frustrating. Please review this, do not be afraid to post any criticism. For I really need some constructive criticism!

Chapter 4:

Callie felt her muscles tensing, as Kyo began snapping sticks for the evening fire. If there was one noise in which she could not stand, it was the snapping of twigs.

“Could you be any louder?”Callie scowled, sticking her stubby little fingers in her ears to block out the dreaded sound.

“Could you at least say it nicely? Do you want a fire or not.”

“Yes”

“Then ignore the sounds, why don’t you go gather some water,”Kyo suggested, Angry and annoyed,Callie grabbed her gold rod and made her way out of the cave. She looked down upon the ground making sure she stayed upon the red path, in case of band of rabid trogs attacked or something. As she made her way down the path, through a score of bushes, she heard a familiar voice.

“CALLIE, ARE YOU THERE? CALLIE!,” the voice screamed from somewhere nearby. Callie knew the voice, her heart beating rapidly, as she knew the voice was that of her husband, Pierce. She never had felt so joyful in her life. Callie dropped the rod in her hand and ran through a bushel of bushes, unaware of the fact she was stepping off the path.

“CALLIE!”the voice screamed again.

“PIERCE!” she screamed back, hoping this time for a reply, but before she could traverse any farther in her search, she felt a huge stone hit her head. The impact caused all her surroundings suddenly turn to darkness. She had no idea where she was, had she been knocked out, kidnapped by a rogue of Trogs. What ever it was? It was not good?

Kyo looked about the red path near the cave, in search of Callie. He wished he had not started the argument, for that may have been the last words he had ever said to her. Kyo suddenly felt sick to his stomach, thinking of how he had upset Callie. Yet another one to add to the list of all whom I have disappointed. His neck feeling uncomfortable and his hands shaking like crazy; he foretold signs of one of many of his numerous panic attacks.

So instead of traversing any further, he reverted back to the cave, and began shuffling through his things, hoping to found his anitidepressive medicine. His heart beat rapidly against his chest as he poked his hands through the bad repeatedly. Nothing, no drugs to be found. So was this one of the guidelines of the Arena, no drugs. He needed them. What would he do? All those dark thoughts would return to tease him, his prior life coming in sprits bit by bit. Gnawing at his skin, making him feel worthless within this dangerous world. Showing him the worthless piece of trash he was.

“KYO!” he heard Callie’s voice scream

“I’m coming, Callie!” he screamed back. Without noticing that he was walking off the red path, he ran following the voice of the one whom he was starting to feel a bit attached to. But before he could traverse any further, he felt a huge stone hit his head. Slowly his surroundings turned to total blackness. Am I dead?

The Fall of Abramm Kalladorne

Chapter 1:

A brisk cold wind blew through the air, chilling the skinny, leafless trees around it. Darkness permeated even the smallest nook and crannies of the small woods. Only one light shone, it was the light of a torch of a small boy, who cowered, tears streaming down his eyes. In his hand was the book of Eidon, the god of light, the one who sent down his only son Tersius, who became an outcast of all humanity and by doing that was soon killed for heresy. His death allowed for all who asked for the shield to dwell in union with Eidon forever. But all this to the young Abramm seemed more like fairy tales, why would someone like Tersius die for a skinny, frail outcast like him. Thinking on this brought the tears pouring down to his small brown tunic which collected each and every drop of his sadness.

How Could Gillard have done this? Why? What have I done to him? What brought this on. Why? Is it because I am worthless? A skinny frail boy of nine who could do nothing but read or write, the activities more suited to women. Why can I not fight like Raynen or even my brother Gillard? Why did he have to stab me in the hand? Why was he trying to kill me? Why?

As the moon shone through the dark clouds and the birds flew up to their nests. Abramm fell upon the dark, cold Earth. He sometimes wished the Earth would just crumble allowing him to disappear from the realm in where he was neither loved nor accepted. At least then he would never have to deal with the likes of Gillard again, the jerk who attacked him as he talked with his mother of her wishes for him to join the Matao. Who unlike the Terstans, believed in strict worship to Eidon, and that only those worthy can communicate with Eidon through the Flames. His mother told him of how the Terstans were nothing but heretics, who believed any man could talk with the Great Eidon.

“Honey, will you consider joining the Matao,” his mother spoke sweetly to him.

“Yes, mother. For hopefully, now I will find my purpose for living,” Abramm spoke, a thin smile forming across his scrawny face.

“Be ready tomorrow morning, for tomorrow, you will journey to the Keep for induction,” his mother spoke sweetly. Abramm always felt comfortable when in the presence of his gallantly, beautiful mother. She took on the resemblance of a goddess with her, bright, flowing blonde hair and thin, silk white gowns. It was like looking upon Eidon in female form.

As Abramm walked off to the study, he felt a sharp object being thrust into his hand. “And where are you going, Momma’s boy,” Gillard, his nasty brother spoke. Gillard stood a few inches taller than the small ten year old Abramm. His body was vastly muscular, though unlike, Abramm’s scrawny, deflated looking body. Abramm grunted angrily at Gillard, and tears began forming in his eyes, as the stings of the wound that Gillard created made him pierce with anger at that epitome of creation. Abramm wanted to grab Gillard’s knife and stab it right into Gillard’s ribs. He wanted to be there, so he could laugh with joy as Gillard bled profusely upon the cold, stone ground of the castle, and the life within him slowly disappeared. Yet, out of fear of the wrath of Raynen, his senior by three years, he reserved himself and ran right out of the castle into the woods. Where he would thus reflect on his past happenings and hope well for his future. As he pondered about all which occurred, a sweet, melodic voice snapped him back to reality.

“Abramm, WHAT HAPPENED?”

Well, so far this summer is just about the same as every summer. Its relaxing, but boring. Mostly I've been reading a ton of books so far this summer. I am reading Charlie Bone and the Beast right now. So far I am really enjoying it. In addition I am on the third book of the Tales of the Otori series. The story is of a fictional Japanese type land and is about a boy who has to achieve his destiny of ruling the Three States of the land. But there to stop him from this is the Tribe, a group of assassins, whom Takeo, the main character, should be belonging to because of his father. There is a lot more to the story, this is basically just a summary. I thought I would share my fanfiction of Arena, today. Well here is chapters one and two, three coming probably today or tomorrow.

Return to the Arena

Ch: 1

This is one of my first fanfictions, I am a little apprehensive, since I have seen some very rude people on here, criticism is good but when given in a rude manner, that is entirely intolerable. All rude comments will be deleted! Criticism though is good so I may improve my story, but please! Please! Be polite when giving it! Anyways this fanfiction is based off of Karen Hancock’s novel Arena. By the way this novel is a very well written novel, one of my favorites. Just the right mix of romance and action. Anyways enjoy the fanfic! Even if at the moment it is not too good!

Rain like little fingers tapped lightly against the red oak door next to where Callie slept on a recliner, her orange hair sticking every which where along the red pollster of the chair. Her eyes glazed with the day’s worries. The light blue sheets, filled with numerous droplets of sweat, stuck to her thin, frale body like glue.

“Callie, Are you awake?” Pierce yelled from upstairs.

“Uh-Huh, Why now?” Callie moaned as her sleep deprived eyes slowly unveiled displaying clear, lucid eyes.

“The Art show, Callie, Remember your paintings of the dark, mysterious figure. Don’t you want to show off your amazing artistic abilities,” Pierce yelled as he buttoned his light blue dress coat.

As Callie walked zombie-like over to the bathroom to freshen up and get dressed, an opaque, dark formless shadow zipped past her. Her entire body froze in place because of sudden paralyzing fear of this mysterious figure. But a sudden peace came within her heart and embraced it bringing a sudden warmth and peace into her body.

Time ticked fast as Callie quickly got into her black dress and high heels, set out the night before, knowing she would as usual oversleep. When she came out of the bathroom, Pierce bounded over to her, his long black hair bouncing in rhythm to his long excited strides. Once he reached her, he worked his strong, muscular arms around Callie’s thin waist and turned her head around and leaned in for a kiss. They stood for what seemed forever, as time froze, for the love flowing between the both of them seemed to stop the movement of all things around them.

“You look lovely, Callie,” he whispered as he nettled his hands through her light orange hair. Callie blushed fiercely as she felt the soothing coolness seeping off of his soft, muscular hands. Her heart beating rapidly against her chest, as he worked his hands down from her head to her back. The feeling of it all seemed to constrict her lungs, making it hard to even let the smallest breathe seep out.

“Ummmm…….! Pierce, I think it is time to go,” she said slowly backing out of Pierce’s embrace, who looked at the moment as dazed as she was from the love they had just created. But before Pierce could turn towards the door, a small dagger appeared out of the wall, where just a few moments ago, Callie had seen the strange formless figure.

“PIERCEEEE!” Callie screeched, running towards Pierce to push him from danger’s way. Yet as she reached her hands towards him, the small, silver dagger cut into his back, blood flowing profusely from the large expansive cut that had just been created.

“OH MY! PIERCEEEE! NO! Just when we were settling down, Elhanu promised peace, he promised…,”Callie unable to etch out more words from the shock of what had just happened. Tears dripping down her reddened eyes, she bounded over to Pierce. Screaming hysterically as she reached out to him, yet, just before her hands reached him, Pierce began dissipating into the walls. For the dark formless shadow was pulling him in. Callie tried to grab his hand, but the shock of what was all occurring left her hand shaky and sweaty, unable to grip Pierce’s hand.

“ELHANU! How could you let this happen?” Callie cried as Pierce completely dissolved into the walls like melting snow. All that remained was a puddle of red blood and a few shreds of his ripped clothing. Callie ran over to the wall, shaking and crying, for her husband Pierce has suddenly disappeared. She tried not to think the worst, the fact Pierce may never be within her grasp ever again. Her love, the one she lived for, never to return to her, the thought just made the tears fall harder. As she sat hunched over crying, a clear white hand reached out of the wall, pulling Callie in. Within moments she was sent tumbling through a funnel of multiple colors wavering randomly all around. Where she was going? She had no idea, but soon she would return to a very familiar place. The place where she learned about faith, and where she found her true love, Pierce.

A/N:I'm sorry I've not updated my fanfiction lately, I’ve been really busy and all with school and family events. Thankfully I am now free of school and hopefully will be able to bring you a new chapter of my fanfiction about every 1 to 3 days. I promise this time! Hopefully, I will stay on top of things and not leave my committed readers hanging! Thanks for all the reviews and everything! While I am writing this fanficition, I hope also to write a Legends of the Guardian King fanfiction about why Abramm joined the Mataio, and maybe what occured after Return of the Guardian King. Right now, I'm working on a Harry Potter/Dragonspell crossover fic, and maybe a Naruto/Avatar crossover fic. OH! Enjoy my chapter!

Chapter 2:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Callie felt her whole body forced out of the whirlwind of color, and quickly before she could even blink her eye, she felt her body slam against the hard cobblestone ground of where she landed. She felt confused about to where this mysterious funnel had taken her. All she could see, what looked like some type of courtyard. The courtyard consisted of a small wooden bench, where next to it lay two huge oak trees. All this laid on top of white cobblestone where painted in the midst of all this was the three pronged symbol of the Arena. Callie smiled not at the remarkable surroundings, but of the familiar man sitting upon the wooden bench.

"Mr. C! I thought I would never see you again,"Callie yelled, running over to the large man and falling into an embrace with him. Mr. C looked a bit different than the last time she had seen him. He had grown a white beard, and his face looked a bit thinner. He was garbed with a pure white cloak and was holding a gold staff in his left hand, which now was lying upon the ground under the bench. For he was now occupied in embracing one of the few people whom had enough faith to make it out of the Arena alive.

"Oh! Callie, My dear, I was expecting you, I brought you here for a reason. I know you may have a lot of anger for me, thinking that I have put you up for another test. Yes, I did tell you, that there would be more challenges besides the Arena, but this was not of my doing. This is the doing the Watchers whom have kidnapped Pierce to make him their new prince of darkness," Mr. C spoke with the most soothing dialect. All Callie's seemed to be essuayed by the man's soothing appearance.

"Mr. C., I mean.. Elhanu, Why would they make Pierce their prince of darkness?,"Callie questioned moving out of Elhanu's embrace and sitting a few inches now to the left of the large man.

"Pierce... Why would they choose him? Think Callie, who has fallen to the darkness more than others... Pierce. Maybe they feel like they can ensnare him in the same trap, they tried the first time. How will they do it? Convince him that they will grant him all his wishes, and let him live freely without any of the rules that I lay out for all my children. They will then make him see that the fire curtains will give him what he wants. Callie, what you do not know is that when any human goes through the fire curtain more than five times. Their physical shell which keeps their soul ensnared is broken, their soul is set free. What do they do with the souls? Well, they trap the soul within the newly formed body of a watcher. A body so filled with darkness. That they are completely blind to light, all they see is darkness, all they crave is sin and death. Callie, you see this staff, that lies under my feet," Elhanu said reaching his gigantic withered hand beneath the bench, and within seconds the staff was then handed to Callie. Callie looked with awe at the amazing weapon, with a red pearl lying at the tip and the symbol of the Arena etch about the staff that she held in her hands. She felt like she had the power to destroy almost all manifestations of darkness that laid around her.

"What does it do? How will it help save Pierce?" Callie questioned

"Hmmm... How will it? That is the question that aches the hearts of all who hold this amazing weapon of light within their hands. But you must have faith, and the time will come when you will see what must be done. Now let's give you some more appropriate clothing. For I do not think high heels and a black dress are well suited for the humid jungles of the Arena,"Elhanu said who snapped his two fingers and a blinding light encased Callie. Callie felt a wondrous sensation beneath the ray. But all too soon it ended. When it disappeared she found her self in a white jumpsuit and upon her back was a bag which contained all the appropriate tools for her journey.

"Now, let me lead you out to the Arena? Oh and Callie, this time around you will not be needing a belt. For since you have gotten out of the Arena the first time, you now have the ability to hear my voice. Callie, even when you are in the midst of complete darkness. Remember, while it may be hard to hear, I am always listening and talking with you at all times. For my child, I love you, and I want you to succeed. But dear, I gave you the ability of freewill. As you know from your last it is up to you to either listen or not. Now you must venture out to the city of Watchers which lies in the middle of the Arena. There you will find what you must do? Oh... and Callie, Follow the red path, for first you must venture to pick up a group of humans who wait to be led out of the Arena. Now go! My child and remember have faith, Goodbye!" Elhanu said and before Callie could shout her farewell to him, she felt herself forced into the same whirlwind of color. This time, Callie knew just where she was being taken. She held the staff in her hand and felt the power surging throughout her body. What ever this thing does? It must have great power! Oh Pierce I hope you are alright! I know you will not fall into temptation again? Callie smiled and felt the humid air of the Arena about her, as she landed upon the hard beaten red path which escalated above the various mountain ranges of the region. Before she could take a step to begin her journey, she heard a hoarse voice screaming

"Omaesan!," the man yelled, his foot steps coming closer and closer. Callie without looking back ran as fast as she could, but she felt an arrow quiver past her and she was struck in her left arm. Callie fell, tears streaming down her eyes as she looked at the blood from the wound flowing profusely from the arrow upon the red path. Was it that man who shot me? Who did it? Oh Elhanu, I wish you did not grant this deed to me!

Well, I had a little trouble coming up with something to say today. But when thinking about it, I felt this book can impact anyone even if they are not housewives. While housewives can more easily connect with Susan's struggles, anyone can connect with her struggle of figuring out as to what is God's purpose for us? We all tackle with it, not just in our teen years but all through adulthood. Recently I have been really tackling with it and this book really helped me to have more patience and faith with the One. Lately, especially this summer I have been filled with doubt as to why I am here? I know that I am here to glorify God's plan. But I still cannot comprehend what is my exact purpose? When looking around me, I see peers of my who have their whole future set out for them, they know exactly what their gift is and they know where exactly they are going to school. Sometimes, I feel as though I am the only one who still has no idea as to what gift God has granted them. Like Susan, I feel as though I going through the routine of everyday life, wondering is this all there is to life. Am I just to meander my way through the daily routine for the next 40 days. This past school year, I felt no real push for me to do well in school, for I had no idea what I was good at? School really bored me, I wondered to myself, why am I sitting here learning this useless junk. During lectures, I would like any slacker, write within my journals, plot ideas for a fantasy novel I was working on. The teachers all believed I was writing notes like every other diligent student. Heh! I sometimes wondered how I passed with Bs and As for the year. Everything else about this past year felt like routine, I went through the steps at school too, even with my friends, every time they would raise a contradiction to my beliefs. I never rose to the challenge of challenging their views, too afraid to be harassed like past years. Even at Christian Club, whenever they would gve their opinions on certain things, I never felt the urge to tell mine, because my views on some things were different and to them may sound a bit liberal. Maybe I was hoping God would do more with my life this year, felt like I wanted more of a transformation like what occured to me during my sophmore year of schooling. What if the past year was my own doing? Maybe I should have had more courage to show my views to others, or should of at least worked harder in school. Well this past year really feels like nothing, but a waste to me. I felt like this book was really given to me at a very appropriate time for me, it helped me to have more faith in God and to have more patience in him, and that the time will come when I will see What he truly wants from me.

Well here is my review of The Restorer by:Sharon Hinck. There really is not much to say except that I really enjoyed the novel. Judging books by their covers is bad in this case, Oh how was I deceived, I really liked this book. I spent a whole night reading it, unable to let the book drop to the ground. I haven't read a book that has made me do this since Karen Hancock's Legends of the Guardian King and Wayne Thomas Batson's Door Within Trilogy. In matters of hours I felt connected with Susan and all her internal struggles. While she may have been a soccer mom, for some reason, I was really able to connect with her struggles. Especially, when she feels alone and uneasy when with the group for the first time, I have felt that numerous times when around others. What I really enjoyed where the parts where Susan discovers her hidden abilities little by little. This really helped me with seeing that what God has planned for me will be unveiled little by little. Other parts that really struck me were the great machines which destroyed the terrain of Barrian woods. When I thought of the machines, I remembered Nausicca of the Valley of the Wind By Hayao Miyazaki and the polluted world which the descendants live in which was destroyed by great war machines. The sword fighting was also a great addition, I easily imagined every swift movement by each of the characters. But what really stood out to me was the description of the terrain of the land, I really enjoyed how Susan would compare the things in the world with common things in her own world. This really helped to paint a picture in my head of the land Susan was thrown in. All in all this book is a great addition to my quickly growing collection of Christian Fantasy/Scifi novels. Only setback is that I must wait till October for the next addition.
