Witches Amongst Us

I knew a witch
With chocolate hair
Hair emblazoned with sin
She was like a great clump of dirt
Who had the face of  a flower
That mesmerized her band of ardent followers
Devoted to her for eternity
I was once bewitched by her
Until I tasted her poison

Within the virtual world
She nestled herself
Creating a false persona
That obnoxiously aired grievances
About past enemies
Or the jarring sound
Of Chorused sneezes from others
Who sat nearby her holy throne
Surrounded by a sentry of large cats
One of whom was not a cat,
But a shadowy ninja
Who was her greatest devotee

She dreamt that she was invulnerable
Seemingly impenetrable
In a sense, she was a goddess
As massive, and dense as a chunk of marble
This was the view of her rank
Amongst those who have nothing
But unswerving adulation
For this spineless witch
Wearing the robes
Of one of the Greek Muses

Except, she hardly enlightened anyone
She spited people
Oh, she absolutely did

To the downtrodden, she opened her loving arms
Consumed their deepest pains,and
Regurgitated them to her flock of devotees
Every story of others was misconstrued
To cement her high rank
In the eyes of others

My eyes discern the truth
After, I tasted her poison,and
Sharply recognized the depth of her cruelty
While, her disciples believe her to be infallible, and
Her enemies to be traitorous bastards
I can still remember the sting of her betrayal

                            Since that woeful day,
It has been hard for me, and others to find healing
Because her type of cruelty excels in
                           The type of manipulative subtlety
That makes you doubt the reality of her witchiness
Then, you wonder if other witches lurk
                             Waiting to utilize your burdens
As gold for their own personal profit

The "Oxymoron" of Love

Love is burdensome
A heavy weight upon the soul
It can exude an unremitting coldness
Within the soul or
excruciatingly burn us

When a friend of ours departs from our lives,
The world seems abuzz with soothing lies
On each side of the unplanned conflict
Each person on opposing side acts
Unreservedly, out of love for another
Under the guise of pure hatred for the other

Love and hate are coexistent
Hate is often the cruelest drug
For a sorrowful heart that has been maimed by love
While, love tragically becomes the justification for hate
Both these divergent forces collide, and
Destructively bring forth
Chaos and Bitterness

When we love deeply
Our pain penetrates even deeper
Hatred even efficiently
Sinks into the depths of our heart
Love is easily outmatched
Dissolving into the acidic liquid
Of hate perversely trying to
Wash away our sins

Every pang of hatred
Has love resolutely underpinning it
A hateful heart ultimately seeks love
While a loving heart must accept
Hatred into their heart

Love and Heat
Birth and death
Attraction and Repulsion
Motion and Inertia
All work in opposition
To drive the universe
Into Life
Cosmic Redemption

My heart was ablaze
With an inextinguishable fire
I loved my enemy so deeply that
It torched the contents of my heart
Just to cling to the hope of forgiveness

Why is forgiveness so impossible?
Every single person that I've known
In this transient life
Are sprinkled like stars
Across the expanse of the universe
Nearly all of them dim, and
Inevitably burn out
Without a sigh, or even a cry

There is nothing for me
Without some semblance of hope
Within the miraculous power of forgiveness
Why cannot I not be reconciled?
My body has been coiled in a snake of flames
My guilt tortures me to the point
Where I fail to remember the
Power vested in mercy

Towards the end of our lives,
Will this irreconcilable sorrow
Restively float beyond ourselves
Into the expansive universe
Does our soul ever find rest?
Or does our pain just cave in,
Forming a black hole

Or, is a new star borne out of the
Debris of our discontented selves
Will forgiveness resurrect us
From the fragmented dust of a self
That has stopped believing evermore
In the universe's miraculous power of redemption
